Building A Travelogue Voice Over for Worldbuilding

I recently built a juicy & delicious voiceover for a fictional settlement that I built with my daughter.

Here’s what it sounds like:

Here’s how I made it:

The Process

  1. Use the Settlement Template to construct a settlement for which you wish to make a travelogue voiceover.
  2. Then, in your LLM of choice (like ChatGPT), use the following prompt:

Here are the details about a fictional settlement that I have designed. I want you to write up a travelogue in an exotic and memorable style.
  3. Tweak the output as necessary. I’ve often used ‘Make it more crispier‘ and ‘Make it more evocative‘ and ‘Make sure you cater to all my senses‘ as follow up prompts.
  4. Once you’re satisfied with the output, head on over to ElevenLabs.
  5. There, create a free account and log in.
  6. Once you log in, paste in the text you wish to use.
  7. Select the appropriate voice and click on render. You will get an MP3 file that you can now use!

Note 1: There are a limited number of free credits for Eleven Labs audio generation, so use them wisely.

Note 2: There are many voices available for use. Explore them and choose the one you like before you render. I chose ‘John Doe- Deep’.
