“Arvindh, why is my cycle on the roof?” she yelled from the ground floor.
My waifu’s tone of voice triggered a waterfall of guilt, anger and “oh shit here we go again”.
I took of my headphones and paused another top 50 songs of NEFFEX and yelled back…
“Because you didn’t go cycling even once in the past 5 months!”
“So?” she screeched.
I was worried the neighbours were watching.
“So, I put it back on top to make space downstairs!”
“But I want to do it today!”
Her tone of voice, bristling with rage, told me in no uncertain terms, that I had to get the bicycle down.
And despite my hairy legs getting goosebumpy in the frigid morning air, I did.
I left my studio, hauled the unwieldy steel and rubber deadweight down two flights of stairs littered with leaves and delivered it to her royal highness.
And all I got in response was “Don’t do it again.” – without the slightest twinkle in her eye.
And… I grinned.
