I am a grahastan!

Hey Macha!

It’s been a few days since I wrote out a full email to you.

I have shifted in to my home and got a lot of work done. Got the grill gate set up, clotheslines and an outside sink for the dishes too.

It’s a new and welcoming feeling.

But, as I’m going through with this, there’s been other stuff that’s been… lacking.

Yes, I’m kinda upset about it.

I love getting my baby girl ready for school, but I miss my long walks.

I love getting my house in order, but I miss being able to put in 10 hours at work.

You see, there’s sacrifice involved in every action we do. If you want to do something new, you need to let go of something old.

Sacrifice something old to gain something new.

This is an idea as old as time da. It’s often taught in MBA courses as opportunity cost.

Call it what you want.

Realize that it exists.

Accept it as inevitable.

Seri. I’m gonna go buy a broom, some rotis and a filter for the coffee maker.

And tomorrow, we’ll start talking about the trials bit.

Ok?

Till next time, this is Arvindh “Grahastan” Sundar
